The USS New York, the U.S. Naval fleet’s newest addition, is constructed in part of over 7 ½ tons of recycled steel from the World Trade Center. With a crew of over 350 sailors and space for the transport of more than 700 Marines, the USS New York will be commissioned on November 7th, 2009.

AWV is proud to have provided round control dampers to this project. They were modified for this marine application and designed to withstand the shock testing per the MIL-S-901 standard.
